At the end, it all comes down to patterns. We are constantly looking for simple yet unique patterns to fill inside the outline. Sometimes we finish the outline, sections and even start filling patterns when we get stuck and run out of ideas. It can be totally frustrating. 

That's why it is always better to choose patterns beforehand. Take 10 to 15 minutes after making sections, just for selecting patterns. Whether you look for it online or create by yourself. Pick what suits best for each section. This will help avoid repetitive patterns.
