Zentangle pattern ideas and tips | 30+ circle based patterns

Zentangle and mandala art mainly comprises of patterns. Patterns used here are basically combination of dots, lines and curves. If you are completely new to this, check out zentangle art for beginners. If you are already into zentangle art, then you know how it goes.

At the end, it all comes down to patterns. We are constantly looking for simple yet unique patterns to fill inside the outline. Sometimes we finish the outline, sections and even start filling patterns when we get stuck and run out of ideas. It can be totally frustrating. 

That's why it is always better to choose patterns beforehand. Take 10 to 15 minutes after making sections, just for selecting patterns. Whether you look for it online or create by yourself. Pick what suits best for each section. This will help avoid repetitive patterns. 

Here are few patterns I have used in my drawings. These are specifically circular and circle based patterns. I will try to add more circle based patterns in this specific post.
