Social media is a great tool to promote business, explore and showcase talent or a hobby. With millions of daily users on Social media platforms like YouTube, Facebook and Instagram, your product reaches to much larger audience.

There are different reasons people start an art account. Some people like to post personal art, hobby. While some people are looking for clients either to teach or to sell artwork. Some are just looking for inspiration.
It's always better to set up username, bio and profile picture beforehand. Incase you want to make changes later on, you always have an option to edit any time you wish to. I personally feel that username is something that one shouldn't keep changing. It gives an idea of what your page is all about. If you start posting, following people and get followers with a particular username that name sticks with your followers. Changing it might confuse some people. So make sure to take your time choosing the username. If you want to add a new genre of art that you are learning or going to post you can always describe it and edit in the bio.
Now, some things to keep in mind while choosing a name for your art account.
1. If you are into one particular art style (eg. Doodling, mandala etc), try to chose a name specific to genre. This gives people an idea about your page. Don't choose generalized names. Even include your name if you are comfortable. Eg,. Nehasmandalacorner
2. Use short and unique name so that it will leave an impression on anyone who sees your post on the feed.
3. It is better to avoid names with numbers, underscore like artworld123. If you end up finding a really unique name which also suits your art genre but it is taken, in that case use numbers or underscore. Otherwise try to avoid numbers and underscore.
4. If you are planning to expand your reach onto other social media platforms, take some time and try to find unique name that's not taken on either platforms. Names like "inkanddots". It's a great art username for Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest account and even a website. Having same or similar names on different platforms gives the 'brand' vibe.
